Steven S. Krane
Steven S. Krane is a principal and Co-Managing Partner of Steger Krane, LLP. Mr. Krane is an experienced litigation and corporate transactional attorney who brings his background as a former CEO and a Certified Public Accountant to his practice. Mr. Krane is head of the firm’s Collection/Creditor Rights and Bankruptcy departments.
In the area of collections, Mr. Krane concentrates on commercial collections assisting clients ranging from a New York State Agency to small and medium size businesses, (wholesale, retail, professional services, and other types of businesses) in the collection of their outstanding accounts receivables and unpaid debts. In addition to his expertise in litigating and/or settling collection matters, Mr. Krane specializes and has vast experience in the collection of money judgments.
As a Corporate Attorney, Mr. Krane has represented both public and private companies (domestic and international), as well as high net worth individuals. Mr. Krane has assisted his corporate clients in an array of areas including: corporate formation and governance, financing, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, contracts and commercial litigation. As a litigator, Mr. Krane is experienced in all phases of the City, State and Federal Courts and has handled thousands of litigation matters on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Krane’s bankruptcy practice concentrates on assisting individuals through the bankruptcy process. He also assists creditors in enforcing their rights in bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Krane began his career as a Tax Attorney with Deloitte & Touche. He then became a corporate associate at what is now Barton, LLP, a medium size Manhattan based corporate law firm. After a number of years as a corporate associate, Mr. Krane was asked to become the CEO of The NetSys Group, a New York City based national technology company. Mr. Krane was a sole practitioner until becoming a member of Cohen & Krane, P.C. in 2010, which focused solely on collections, bankruptcy and corporate law.
Mr. Krane is admitted to the Bars of the State of New York and New Jersey and the Courts of the Southern and Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the New York Bar
Association, Gotham City Networking and is a Board Member and legal advisor of the Needler’s Foundation.
Mr. Krane graduated Fordham Law School and Fordham Graduate School of Business with a J.D./M.B.A. (Concentration in Finance) in 1993 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1991. He received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Albany. Mr. Krane is a lifelong New Yorker, husband, and proud father of three living in Northport, New York.
