AUDRA E. DEHAN is a sole practitioner in Melville, NY, practicing law for more than twenty years. Ms. Dehan concentrates her practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, estate planning for families with special needs, will and trust preparation, probate and administration, real estate and elder law.  Her clients range from those of modest means with elder law needs to those with significant net worth and sophisticated tax planning needs. Ms. Dehan’s estate and tax planning practice incorporates the use of the most sophisticated tax planning trusts, including Life Insurance, Personal Residence and  Defective Grantor Trusts as a few examples. Ms. Dehan’s Surrogate’s Court practice includes probate, guardianship,  administration, accounting and ancillary proceedings.  She has also been appointed as a guardian ad litem in the Suffolk County Surrogate’s Court in several estate proceedings. As part of her estate planning practice, Ms. Dehan devotes considerable time to estate planning for families with special needs. The estate planning includes traditional planning with modifications (such as Inter Vivos and Testamentary Supplemental Needs Trusts, Guardianship proceedings and the like) . Speaking engagements include local SEPTA groups, the CODY  Center for Autism and  Developmental Disabilities at Stony Brook University (where Ms. Dehan served as a member of the fundraising committee for several years), “Transition to Adulthood” day-long conferences hosted by Stony Brook University and the AHA (Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association) annual Conference at Adelphi University. Ms. Dehan is a graduate of Touro College Law School, a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in both New York and Florida.  She lives in Commack with her husband, Shalom and three children, Jonathan, Victoria and Rachel.
